some intresting talking points i may talk about:
The problem is, we can't decide who is in an echo chamber, group A accuses group B of being in one, and vise versa.
Relevant opposing voices are actively discredited in online echo chambers, and when refecting all outside sources of info, we have cult like behavior
The ((leader)) of an echo chamber tells its members that the rest of the world hates the group for knowing some truth, and they will call them crazy, lunatics and incorrect, so any confrontation only strengthens the members' faith in their leaders. (example: flat-earthers)
You don't know it all
The mind of someone trapped in an echo chamber often convinces them that they’ve escaped it and that escaping means being free. But that’s not entirely true. Just because you reject something you were told doesn’t mean it was false. A clear example is flat-earthers: a new "convert" becomes convinced that everything they were taught was a lie, part of a grand conspiracy. They begin to see themselves as one of the rare few who have "escaped," which makes it even harder to return to common sense.
Selective exposure theory: When people face two conflicting ideas, it causes mental discomfort. To avoid this, they choose to consume media that matches their beliefs. For example, someone might only browse Twitter—not because they love it, but because the algorithm and most users share their views, so they don’t have to deal with opposing opinions. Or they might stop using the internet altogether and only trust news from sources like Fox News.
